From Undrafted to Undeniable: Why the Realtor Draft Never Ends
Well, the NFL Draft has officially wrapped.
But you know what draft never ends? The Realtor Draft.
Every week—whether it’s April or August—families across Central Ohio and right here in Pataskala are making moves, and they’re looking to draft the right agent to help them buy or sell their home.
No combine. No ESPN feature. Just a lot of Googling, referrals, and "who do you know?" texts in the neighborhood group chat.
And while I didn’t get a call from the Commissioner, I’ve been out here grinding like an undrafted free agent with something to prove since Day One.
If you’re building your real estate team this summer, here’s my official scouting report:
🏋️ Strengths:
1. Reliability. Like a veteran left tackle, I show up. I block the nonsense, protect your deal, and make sure your move doesn’t get sacked.
2. Guerilla Marketing. I don’t just list homes—I launch them. We’re talking video tours, local reels, social posts that stop the scroll and spark conversations. I’ve had homes hit 80,000+ views. Not by accident—by strategy.
3. Market IQ. I don’t just work here—I live here. I know which neighborhoods are heating up, which ones are overpriced, and which ones are secretly undervalued. If it’s in Pataskala or Licking County, I’ve walked it, sold it, or coached someone’s kid there.
👎 Weaknesses:
1. Below-average arm length. Which doesn’t matter when you carry the team with your heart. (And a stepladder.)
2. Slow 40-yard dash. Unless you put a Donatos pepperoni pizza at the finish line.
3. Family first. I’ve got four kids under seven, and if you call during bedtime, you’re competing with bath time, tooth brushing, and toddler negotiations. Also, I quit texting after 8:30 PM—my wife gives me the look.
Also… I do not apologize for being a Cincinnati Bengals fan.
I’ve lived through the heartbreak, the missed field goals, the memes, and Marvin Lewis playoff runs. I’ve been loyal since Boomer and I’ll still be yelling “Who Dey” when I’m gray.
If that offends you... well, you're probably a Steelers fan. 🐅
Bottom line? You don’t need a flashy five-star recruit. You need someone loyal, gritty, and obsessed with helping you win in real estate.
